Instead of being fixated on a sizable, distant goal, focus on smaller, daily, lifestyle changes that you are capable of seizing now. SMART goals are specific, measurable, attainable, repeatable and timely. It takes time to create sustainable results because the brain and physiology of the body need time to acclimate. This takes time and your brain will fight change. Change takes energy and we are creatures of habit. Just move. Make one positive choice today. We can think about tomorrow, tomorrow. Remember that relapses are normal. Don’t beat yourself up. The storm may get worse at points along your journey. Learn to enjoy the path and results will follow. If you narrow your lens to the end goal, and do not learn to enjoy the moment, you may touch that goal for a second, but its hard to hold on to it for a while.
